The day is split into two parts. The first part is a Barcelona introduction which includes visits to the Olympic Village, the Gothic Quarter (the oldest part of Barcelona), Plaça Sant Jaume and El Poble Espanyol (the Spanish Village). Your morning also includes an aerial view of Barcelona from the Montjuic Mountain cable car.
The focus of the afternoon is Barcelona’s incomparable architecture; particularly the work of Antoni Gaudi. An expert guide will help you to understand the unique vision of the man who shaped Barcelona. You will see Parc Guell and have plenty of time to explore the spectacular Sagrada Familia.
Cruise passengers: This tour can easily be taken if arriving in Barcelona by cruise ship; it will take you around 55 minutes to reach the start point. Take bus 17 from the port and transfer to metro line 1 at Urquinaona from where it is just 2 stops to Universitat. Alternatively a taxi should take 15-20 mins and cost no more than 10Euros.

Paseo de Gracia
You will start your Barcelona in a Nutshell tour by seeing the places that depict the changes the city underwent for the Olympic Games in 1992. Drive past the Olympic Village, the Olympic Port, the beach and the fisherman’s quarter, called Barceloneta, the Port Vell, Plaza (square) de Colon with its famous Columbus monument, indicating which way he sailed to discover the Americas. This point is also the beginning of the famous Ramblas of Barcelona. Then you will drive to the Montjuic Mountain, from where the 18th-century castle offers a panoramic view of the city which you will see from your included cable car ride. After a visit to the Spanish village, you will leave Montjuïc and go back down to the city centre. During the drive back to the city centre, admire the Venetian Towers, the Montjuïc fountains, the MNAC and the CC, “Las Arenas” rebuilt over the ancient “Plaza de Toros” (bullrings). You will arrive at the Plaza de Catalunya, the starting point of the guided walking tour of the old city centre. Our guide will take you to the Gothic Cathedral, through the narrow street of the Gothic quarter and to plaza Sant Jaume where the City hall is located and the headquarters of the Catalonian government. Next, you will go for an artistic Barcelona tour, exploring the works of Antoni Gaudi. Your tour starts with a visit to the La Sagrada Familia or Holy Family Cathedral. One of the must-see Barcelona attractions the cathedral, designed by Antoni Gaudi, is an amazing piece of architecture that remains unfinished even after 100 years. Marvel at the expressionist artwork of the cathedral and its Nativity Façade where the theme of Christ’s birth and childhood is depicted. This tour will take you around the Sagrada Familia from the outside for 30 minutes (internal visit not included). Continuing your Barcelona tour you will reach Park Güell. This beautiful public park was created by Gaudi and declared a Heritage Site by UNESCO. Park Guell contains amazing stone structures, stunning tiling and fascinating buildings and offers wonderful views over Barcelona. You will have around 30 minutes at leisure to explore the park. After Park Guell, you will return to Paseo de Gracia, where your tour ends near Casa Battlo.

This tour will not visit the inside of the Sagrada Familia.
