Indulge into a unique wine and rum experience during your vacation in Barcelona as you visit the Freixenet Cava Wine Cellars, Sitges, one of the most beautiful villages of the Catalonian coast, and the Bacardi House. A guide will accompany you at all times.
A 7-hour journey will take you behind the scenes to experience the production of the Catalonian Cava, a sparkling white wine like champagne, at the Freixenet Cava Wine Cellars and enjoy tastings. Then you will spend some leisure time in the picturesque Sitges and delve into the pleasant climate and vibrant culture of this quaint village of the Catalonian coast.
You will end the tour with a visit to the Bacardi House where the world famous Bacardi rum is produced. You will learn about Bacardi rum’s history, the ingredients of rum and you will be shown how to make one of the most famous rum cocktails.
To begin your Freixenet Cave Wine Cellars, Sitges and Bacardi House Tour, you will depart from Balmes, 5, Barcelona in an air-conditioned bus and head to Freixenet cava wine cellars.
During your visit to Freixenet cava wine cellars, your guide will give you an audio-visual introduction to the world of Cava, a sparkling white wine like champagne. The guide will then take you around the wine cellar built in 1922 and will explain the process of the making of cava. You will also receive tips on how to serve and drink the cava wine. The visit will end with a small train ride through the modern factory of the Freixenet cava wine cellars and tastings of a glass of the world famous Freixenet cava.
Next, your bus will take you to Sitges, one of the most beautiful villages of the Catalonian coast. Take a stroll around the picturesque village, spend time on the beach or enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants or shop at the quaint shops. After spending your time at leisure, you will head to the last stop of the tour, the Bacardi House.
At the Bacardi house you will discover the history of the famous Bacardi family, renowned worldwide for their Bacardi rum. Take a tour of the house and learn about the history of the Bacardi rum and its creators. Your guide will take you to the various rooms and show you the ingredients that make up this spectacular rum. You will also witness the making of one of the cocktails, either a Mojito or Cuba Libre.
Get a chance to prepare your own Bacardi mix and drinking it before the tour comes to an end.
