“Waterfalls are exciting because they have power, they have rainbows, they have songs, and they have boldness and craziness”, said Mehmet Murat Ildan and truly, waterfalls evoke a heady brew of sensations that can barely be captured in the limited vocabulary of human language. This tour through three of the most spectacular waterfalls in Ubud - Tibumana, Tukad Cepung and Tegenungan - will take you on a roller coaster of poignant emotions and gift you a day in the reinvigorating arms of Mama Nature.
A true-blue clandestine paradise, Tibumana is one of the best kept secrets of Bali. Located barely 10 minutes from the very touristy and overcrowded Reng Reng Falls, Tibumana is more popular among locals and few backpackers who go exploring waterfalls. This cascading beauty is located in a true Instagram worthy locale and the entire spot is extremely picturesque with clear, blue waters amidst a mesmerising veil of greenery. Whether you are a water baby or not, if you know how to swim, just forget everything and go for one here! Trust us when we say you will thank us later!
After a mesmerising experience at the incredible Tibumana, it’s time for the gorgeous Tukad Cepung. Another stunning jewel on Bali’s crown of ravishing waterfalls, Tukad Cepung makes you feel like you are in a million-dollar magazine shot. Astonishingly hidden, even when compared to Tibumana, Tukad Cepung can be spotted only when you are about 10m away as it needs to be accessed with a short hike and a climb down to the base of the cliffs. But once you reach the falls and witness the mesmerising stream of water falling off the cliff edges under the open sky, all the while giving the impression of standing inside a cave, it’s a view you will forget in years. Glistening beams of water in the sunlight, magical rainbows, golden sun rays seeping over the rocky edges - it’s a magical locale that just cannot be missed!
Before we head to our final haunt for the day, we will stop at a local cafe or warung (traditional, family-owned establishments) for an authentic and absolutely delicious Balinese lunch. Having indulged our palates on an unforgettable meal, we will move on to our last stop for the day - the beautiful Tegenungan Waterfall. A frenzied stream of water and enticing pool at the bottom perfect for a dip, Tegenungan is bewitching to say the least. Sit back and soak in the alluring environment enveloping this tantalizing locale after a long day of hiking and swimming. We promise it will be one of the most exciting yet relaxing days of your life!
