Discover an enthralling mix of Bali’s natural beauty and cultural heritage on this unforgettable tour. This Bali Nature and Culture Tour treats you to the magnificent view of Mt. Batur, an exploration of the Kintamani Village and the UNESCO Heritage-listed Goa Gajah, a traditional Barong dance performance as well as a tryst with the city’s art and craftsmanship at Batubulan, Mas and Ubud villages.
The day begins with you heading through the scenic Balinese countryside, to arrive at the first halt - Batubulan Village. Known for their exquisite sculptures and stone carvings of mythical and mythological creatures, the name Batubulan itself translates of ‘moon stone’. The community is known for their skill in making ‘antique’ wares out of Paras or volcanic ash, as well as other textiles and woodwork.
You will also witness something truly unique at Batubulan - the mythological Barong dance where performers showcase the local mythology in a dramatic form along with traditional dancing as well as using heritage musical instruments and wearing ornate costumes. Next up is yet another well-known village - Mas, primarily a community of woodcarvers who are known for their generations-old skills. Interact with the warm residents, watch exceptional artisans at work and learn about their artistic influences while exploring the village.
A dose of history and nature awaits us next at the stunning Kintamani Village where you will visit the tentatively-listed UNESCO World Heritage site, Goa Gajah or Elephant Cave. Feast your eyes on the intricate carvings on the entrance on this 9th-century cave before you move on to Kintamani for a truly breathtaking panorama of the active volcano, Mount Batur, and its lush surroundings.
The final stop on the itinerary is the very famous Ubud - known for being Bali's preeminent center for fine arts, dance, and music. Wander around the mesmerising village as you as you acquaint yourself with the microcosm of traditional and contemporary painters who stay here, as well as their equally brilliant works of art. Finally, you’ll have a chance to stroll through the pretty Celuk village where you can find incredible gold and silver artisans at work, a perfect opportunity to get introduced to their craftsmanship as well as purchase some souvenirs to get back home!
