Love your history? French history? Then get ready for a double-bill. A place that was called home by nine Catholic pope’s way back in the 14th Century.
They may not be here today, but you can explore the Palais des Papes and uncover the history and why they stayed here. It’s a Gothic castle, and a large one too! Intricate frescoes and majestic halls show the power and influence of the Catholic Church. These two monumental structures dominate the quaint town of Avignon and have been its centrepiece for almost 800 years. Thanks to this unique combo ticket, you can now discover both, and learn about their deep connection to the Catholic church and French government.
As for the Pont d’Avignon, well it’s a chance to experience what’s left of this impressive structure. Only four arches remain, but you can imagine the once remarkable feat of construction. Legends of Avignon both, now you can discover why.
