Hawa Mahal: Dating back to the late 18th century, Hawa Mahal is one of the most spectacular of the Rajput palaces. Extending into the Zenana or the women’s chamber, the 5-storey exterior which is made up of over 950 small windows or Jharokhas give the palace its unique honeycomb appearance and makes it stand out amidst a bunch of other equally stunning monuments.
City Palace: With an inception that is simultaneous with the origin of Jaipur, the City Palace was the administrative as well as ceremonial seat for Maharaja of Jaipur till as late as 1949. The sprawling palace is home to a number of courtyards and other buildings including the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple, and the City Palace Museum.
Jantar Mantar: Representing the scientific prowess of the Rajputs as well as its significance to the Kingdom, the Jantar Mantar fascinates visitors to this day. Comprising a collection of 19 architectural astronomical instruments, this was an observatory where scientists of the time implemented Ptolemy’s ideologies to study the stars.
Jal Mahal: Sitting in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake, this one is a spectacle of Rajput architecture and makes for a one-of-kind sight to behold.
