Excellent - would have enjoyed a guide inside St. Peter's
I would not recommend this tour. The organization is good and the tour guide helpful, although she didn't wait for people in the group to catch up, so we kept missing things she said. The bus goes to two excellent viewing spots, but you can also easily get to both of these on the sightseeing bus, or on a local bus (I think 7 and 13 take you to these two spots). At one, the bus did not even stop for pictures, never mind let us out to wander around for 15 mintues. The other sights in the city, well, I could easily have walked to them anyway and learned more from reading my guidebook for a few minutes. The only one good thing was entrance to the Uffizzi Gallery so that you don't have to stand in lineups to get in. However, if you plan ahead to buy your ticket, and get to the gallery early, you should be ok anyway (and don't show up in July or August when it is much too busy!). I heard some grumbling from people on the tour, and I was feeling the same way. I would not recommend this tour to anyone really, as it was just not worth it. If you only have one day in Florence, better to walk around the historic part of the city: go to the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio, the shops (nice jewellery, but not cheap) and the many many market stalls (good leather products), eat at good meal, and drink some local wine. Those are the highlights of Florence.
The pick up point was easy to find and right across the road from a metro station. The tour was a lovely touch to see paris by night and was very informative. We loved being able to get out at the Eiffel tower to take a photo. The moulin rouge show was amazing and a definate must see!
