It was quite easy to attend to the papal audience due to the help with the trasporationt which was in time. Very nice guide. Arriving at the Vatican were a lot of people, crowded, but we manage to pass all the controls in time. It was a memorable experience to see the Pope, but I must confess that I expected more. Everything started later, in the end was almost no time for blessings, and the pick-up time was before the audience was finished.
Although the itinerary mentioned both Naples and Pompei, the main attraction was obviously Pompei. We had an excellent local tour guide who explained the "frozen" statues, brothel, the temple, the amphitheatre and the lot with very entertaining expressions. It's amazing (albeit a bit sad) to see how people were "frozen" by the volcanic lava almost 2,000 years ago! The driver was very good as well. We were stuck in a small road in Rome at the start of the tour. A parked lorry blocked the road and the driver was nowhere in sight. The driver relentlessly looked for ways to move the lorry to one side so that we may pass! However, the air-con in the bus was not working properly and it was stuffy at times...
A highly recommended tour itinerary with a variety to see, eg medieval towns, basilicas/churches. The tour guide was knowledgeable about the places we went to, providing a lot of information on the way. It was a pity that the bus had a leakage on the roof and the rainwater was pouring onto the passenger seats as well. Luckily there were enough seats to move around...
