Overview

Witness the magical beauty of this 18th century architectural wonder come alive during nighttime as you stroll around its strategically-placed gates and the training grounds for troops from the Joseon Dynasty. Enjoy the views of this fantastically lit-up structure while the night breeze relaxes you, something that cannot be experienced during the day.

Itinerary
This tour begins with a convenient hotel pick up in the evening. Enjoy comfortable transfers to Suwon city, located an hour away from the capital city of Seoul. Enjoy the company of an expert guide who will share many cultural and historical insights through the tour and make this an even more memorable experience.
Then, head to Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, the official fortress of Suwon-si that was built in the late 18th century by King Jeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty to house and honour the remains of his executed father. Designated as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, this fortress now provides a scientific, architectural, and artistic insight into Korea’s past. Walk around this 5.7 kms fortress in the peace of the night and witness its brilliantly illuminated sights. With the beautiful lighting at ideal spots of the fortress, enjoy a romantic walk while feeling the night breeze.
Discover the four gates that face each of the cardinal directions—Janganmun (north), Paldalmun (south), Changnyongmun (east), and Hwaseomun(west)—and the seven-arch style Sumun gates that straddle the point where the nearby stream reaches the palace. Walk past the north and west gates to reach the Yeonmudae Post, where the troops trained themselves in fighting skills involving swords, spears and arrows for over two centuries.
Walk back to your vehicle and enjoy the night scenery of this stunning historic spot one last time.
This tour ends with transfers back to Myeongdong Lotte Hotel in Seoul.
