Enjoy this tour of the glittering city of Dubai and discover its rich history and culture. Perhaps the most famous tourist destination in the Middle East, Dubai’s grand opulence and splendour attract visitors from all over the world, who come to discover its souks and cosmopolitan culture. Take a tour of the Bastakia area to view the traditional wind towers and the old Fahidi Fort, which is today the Dubai History Museum. Along the way, pause for a photograph at the famous Jumeirah Mosque, an architectural landmark in Dubai.

Discover Dubai’s history with a visit to the 1787 AD Fahidi Fort that offers vivid depictions of life before the discovery of oil. This city tour takes you on a journey that lets you explore Dubai’s history and its cosmopolitan culture.

Itinerary

You will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach from your hotel in Ras Al Khaimah or Umm Al Quwain and taken on a tour of the cosmopolitan hub of Dubai. A guide (English and German speaking) will accompany you on this tour. With its unique confluence of history and modern living enmeshed to create new heights of opulence, Dubai has emerged as a global tourist destination.

On this tour of Dubai city We go through the spice market, fruit and vegetable market then you visit:

• The famous Gold Souk, where there are thousands of varieties of gold jewellery on display, creating a festive atmosphere.

• The Bastikia area, where you’ll find the highest concentration of traditional old wind-tower houses in Dubai. Built in the early 20th century, wind-towers were traditionally constructed to funnel cool air down into houses.

• The old Fahidi Fort, which was built around 1787AD and is today known as the Dubai History Museum. Its colourful, life-size models vividly depict everyday life in the days before the discovery of oil. One of the more spectacular exhibits is of pearl diving, including sets of pearl merchants’ tools. Also on display are artefacts from several excavations in the emirates, recovered from graves that date back to the third millennium BC.

Stop for a photo shoot at the stunning Jumeirah mosque, an architectural landmark in Dubai. It is one of the few mosques that allow non-Muslims an entry.

After exploring the highlights of Dubai city, you will be dropped back to the starting point of the tour.
