Overview

Prague in the 20th century was at the crossroads of the struggle between democratic, communist and fascist ideas of a modern world because of which it witnessed revolutions, invasions, ethnic cleansing, holocaust, show cause trials. Ultimately, it came out victorious as an artistic and cultural hotbed in Europe. Travel back in time with a guided walk around Prague and relive the turbulent history of the Czech Republic’s past and how it emerged from the ravages of the struggle.

Walking from National Street to St. Wenceslas Square, your guide will show you the places connected with the ups and downs of the politics of the past century. He will fill you in with accounts of the dramatic events that shaped the country. Hear about stories from the World Wars, Nazi occupation, Communist revolution, the statue of Stalin that dominated over the city, Russian invasion, book burning and student killings, and the famous Velvet Revolution – all that have major influences in the everyday lives and culture of the city.

The people here offer a range of sightseeing tours and cruises, but with a quirky twist. A boat ride to the zoo, a dinner at a medieval tavern, chugging beers during a walk, face off with friends during a game of paintball in an island – that’s the kind of things we are talking about.
