The palace is a stunning example of French art and full of royal history; Versailles was home to such notable figures as Louis XIV, also known as the Sun King and Marie Antoinette, the last Queen of France. The grand rooms are abundant with luxurious elements and the corridors are lined with statues – the palace is in itself the very pinnacle of French monarchy and its excess.
