Our tips for Classes & Workshops

• Permission Granted. If you take a Paris photography workshop and find yourself wandering the streets in search of subjects, make sure you ask for permission before taking a photo of a local. It’s just good manners and can avoid a confrontation.

• Lock Down. Some Paris classes and workshops take you out to the market to buy ingredients. But, before you go, secure all of your belongings carefully because petty theft can occur in crowded places.

• Breadiquette. If offered bread during a cooking class, break off a piece and set it on the left side of your plate.Don’t bite the entire dinner roll; but, rather, tear off small pieces and pop those in your mouth.Sopping up sauce with your bread is perfectly acceptable in France.

Good to know

If the climate represents the most important factor when planning a Paris vacation, the best time to take Paris Workshops and Classes is during the shoulder seasons.  You’ll experience lower temperatures than you would in the summer, but it’s warm enough to please most visitors.  An added bonus is that joining a Paris class or workshop in late spring or early fall also allows you to avoid the enormous crowds that swarm the top Paris attractions each summer.  Then again, summer has its benefits.  The heat isn’t overbearing, nearly all Paris points-of-interest are open to the public, and you’re more likely to run into someone on the streets of Paris that you know from back home.  Plus, in summer, Paris sees by the most tourism for a reason.  Now, the best time of day to take Paris workshops and classes depends on your situation.  If you’re on a budget, then booking a cooking class for either lunchtime or dinnertime can save you the cost of a meal because you’ll be eating what you make.  If you’re thinking about booking a photography tour, then it could certainly help to schedule it either at dawn or right before dusk to take advantage of the golden hour. It’s what to do in Paris for those dramatic, colorful images!
