Overview

Take a private tour of Chantilly in France, one of the most important equestrian centres in Europe and home to the magnificent renaissance Chateau de Chantilly.

You will visit the Conde Museum where you can admire an interesting and impressive collection of paintings and drawings from the "Ecole Française" as well as masterpieces from the Italian painters such as Fra Angelico and Raphael.

An added attraction of the tour is a visit to the Grand Stables of the Princes de Condé, an architectural master piece of the 18th century, and also one of the world’s most beautiful stables they have the added benefit of overlooking the magnificent Chateau.

Itinerary

  • Your private car and driver/ guide will collect you from your hotel at 1400h (2:00pm). Senlis is a beautiful medieval historic town, take a short stop here before you arrive at Chantilly, the most important equestrian centre in Europe and home to the magnificent renaissance Chateau de Chantilly. Your first visit will be the Condé museum, which presents an important collection of paintings and drawings from the "Ecole Française" (Watteau, Ingres, Delacroix), as well as masterpieces from the Italian painters (Fra Angelico and Raphael) and numerous masterpieces from the Northern Schools. Proceed to the Chateau de Chantilly, where you can see a collection of more than 3000 painting by some of the old masters. Among the castle’s former residents were the enormously wealthy High Constable Anne de Montmorency (chief minister to Francis I and Henry II), and the Grand Condé, a military genius who hosted Louis XIV for a three-day feast and theatrical in 1671. Next, visit the living horse museum and one of the world's most beautiful stables. The Grand Stables of the Princes de Condé is an architectural masterpiece of the 18th century and situated on a unique site, facing the Chateau on one side and the race course on the other. At the end of the tour, you will be returned to your hotel in Paris. You will arrive around 1830h (6:30pm).
