Visit the famous house-museum of Frida Kahlo the “Blue House”, admire the majestic architecture of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the scenic locales of downtown Coyoacán and the vibrant hues of Xochimilco., the “Place of flowers”.
Visit a silver carving workshop where you can admire the art and buy some souvenirs. After that, we will go to Coyoacán, whose name in Nahuatl means “place of coyotes”. Learn about the origin and significance of this neighborhood, stroll through its streets and if you want, have a light breakfast (on your own).
Next, visit the house-museum of Frida Kahlo, or the “Blue House“, and learn about her life and work. Although she lived in different places in Mexico City and abroad, she always returned to her old house in Coyoacán. Continue to one of Frida Kahlo’s favorite places, Xochimilco, dating back to pre-Hispanic times. Enjoy a ride on a trajinera, a traditional boat from the area.
After the tour, you can explore the handicraft market on your own or savor some local dishes. The last stop is Ciudad Universitaria. With your expert guide in tow, admire the murals of the Rectory and the Central Library belonging to the main campus of the National University. Be bowled over by more than 110 murals of different sizes and shapes that narrate the history of Mexico!
