Itinerary

  • This tour starts with a pick-up from Hotel Radisson Blu in Marseille. Relax as you drive in an AC minibus to Pays de Sault, a small and scenic Provencal village, also known as the ‘Capital of Lavender’. As you reach Sault, the relaxing fragrance of lavender flowers hits you! With wide expanses of lavender and lavandin (another variety of lavender) fields in full bloom, enjoy plenty of fantastic photo opportunities. Spend some free time in the quaint village of Sault and enjoy lunch at a local eatery (at your own expense). Meet a lavender producer who’s an expert in farming lavender, considered as the ‘Blue Gold of Provence’! If your tour happens to be on a Wednesday, visit the local market to shop for regional specialties like essential oils, soaps, herbs and more! Then, spend your afternoon discovering two of the most impressive hilltop villages of Luberon – Roussillon and Gordes. Experience an ideal combination of man and nature, and of ochre and stone at Roussillon, located at the top of an ochre cliff. Ranked among the most beautiful villages of France, Roussillon is full of ochre-washed facades. Surrounded by a charming countryside, this village has been an inspiration for many celebrated artists. Explore another breathtaking village – Gordes and admire its typical French architecture. Once at the top of Gordes, witness the fortified castle and church. Wander through the tiny streets lined with houses built with stones from the very rock on which they are fitting. This tour comes to end with transfers back to the start point in Marseille.
