Overview

The high-speed catamaran from Marmaris to the Rhodes island runs approximately 50 minutes. Enjoy a short comfortable journey and have plenty of free time to explore the area. It is possible to find guided tours available from the Mandraki harbour or take a taxi to travel around. But the best option is to explore the island on your own as most of the tourist attractions are in walking distance from the harbour.

Definitely visit a walled medieval Old Town of Rhodes which has been declared a World Heritage Site. Walk through its narrow streets and explore historical sites on its every corner. The most famous sights of Rhodes are the well preserved Venetian Castle - the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of St. John, Freedom Gate, Church of St. Paul and Aphrodite Temple. The legendary Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, is also worth mentioning.

Rhodes has plenty of shops with the possibility to find famous brands, buy local goods, handicrafts and souvenirs. There are many restaurants, cafes and bars in the town to stop for a delicious lunch and sample the Greek cuisine. There are also small bistros and Greek tavernas somewhere in the backstreets which serve delicious authentic Greek dishes and are definitely worth a visit. The only thing is to notice - the prices for food and drinks in Rhodes are much more expensive than in Turkey. Return time to Marmaris is approximately 6pm.
