A tour of the Borobudur Temple gives you a glimpse into the Buddhist culture and tradition. Starting from the base of the shrine, you ascend five levels, each of which represents a state of being and its Buddhist interpretation. Don’t miss out a visit to the Prambanan temple considered the largest Hindu temple in the country. It boasts of a wealth of sculptures - keep an eye out for sculptures of the Ramayana epic on an inner wall!
Day 1: JOGJAKARTA
Arrival at Adisucipto International Airport Jogjakarta. Meet and greet then transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Jogjakarta.
Day 2: CANDIREJO VILLAGE - BOROBUDUR
Start the day with explore Candirejo, a traditional Javanese village which is rich in its natural surroundings and being promoted for village tourism, portraying traditional Javanese culture and daily life through traditional houses, plantation resources, art performances, ceremonies, farming and local food. You will participate in daily social activities to feel their real traditional village atmosphere, their culture and lifestyle. In the afternoon discover Borobudur temple, the biggest Buddhist sanctuary in the world. Early evening back to Jogjakarta. (BL)
Day 3: JOGJA CITYTOUR – PRAMBANAN
Spend your morning touring Jogjakarta, visit Sultan Palace (Kraton) dating back to the 17th century, Watercastle and take time to admire the famous traditional handicraft works of Kotagede central of silver smiths as well as a traditional batik home industry, famous Malioboro street, a great long-colorful bazaar of souvenir shops and old market Beringharjo. In the afternoon explore Java’s most interesting Hindu shrine Prambanan temple as one of the most beautiful Hindu’s temple in the world with a bas-relief depicting the famous Ramayana story. (BL)
Day 4: DIENG FULL DAY
Enjoy a delightful scenic drive this morning through villages and paddies area, firstly travel to the most spectacular scenic points and an ancient pilgrim’s retreat in Central Java. Dieng, a silent mountain plateau with its eerie strangeness and proximity to the heavens is aptly called the Abode of the Gods. Some interesting natural sites can be visited such as the active volcanoes craters, sulfur spring and hot geyser and the beauty of colorful lake. Enjoy dramatic scenery as we drive through the tea and tobacco plantations of Sindoro-Sumbing valley some of the most spectacular countryside you will ever see. (BL)
Day 5: SOLO CITYTOUR – SUKUH CETHO
Head for Solo city tour visiting royal Mangkunegaran Palace, a complex which blends European elegance with Javanese architectural style and with its fascinating display of gold-plated dance ornaments, jewelry and wooden mask, and visit Triwindu Flea Market. Then driving eastward to explore the lovely countryside to discover the most mysterious and atmospheric ancient sites of Sukuh temple. This temple is quite different in style from many of the other Hindu shrines in Central Java. Dating from the 15th century, it more resembles the architecture of the Incas, situated in the slope of mount Lawu over 900 m above sea level. Next we go up a scenic, winding mountain road to another Hindu temple at Cetho to enjoy the beauty of its peaceful surrounding. (BL)
Day 6: JOGJAKARTA
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Yogyakarta airport for your onward flight.
