Get ready for an unforgettable day trip from Hurghada to Cairo, where the ancient wonders and vibrant history of Egypt come alive!
As dawn breaks, settle in and relax on the scenic journey across the desert landscapes, passing rugged mountains and the expansive beauty of the Sinai Peninsula as the anticipation builds.
Your first stop is the Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramid of Khufu, as well as the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. Our expert Egyptologist guide will lead you through the marvels of ancient engineering, offering fascinating stories about these monumental structures and the extraordinary efforts of the ancient Egyptians who built them over 4,500 years ago. You’ll have the chance to approach the legendary Great Sphinx, a lion-bodied monument with the face of Pharaoh Khafre, and marvel at its grand scale and mysterious gaze. For the brave-hearted, there’s even an opportunity to explore the inner chambers of one of the pyramids, diving deeper into the history that shaped the ancient world.
After an exhilarating morning at Giza, we’ll pause to enjoy a delicious Egyptian lunch at a nearby restaurant, where you can savour classic dishes such as kofta, grilled meats, and fresh salads—a true taste of Egypt’s rich culinary heritage.
In the afternoon, we’ll head to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, Cairo’s historic centre. Inside this museum, one of the world’s most important collections of ancient artefacts awaits. Your guide will lead you through highlights such as the treasures of King Tutankhamun, his intricate golden mask, and countless other items that reveal the daily life, artistry, and beliefs of ancient Egypt. The museum houses an astonishing array of mummies, statues, jewelry, and relics that span thousands of years, offering a window into Egypt’s storied past.
As the afternoon light begins to wane, we’ll take a quick walk through Tahrir Square, where Egypt’s modern history has been shaped, giving you a chance to witness the energy of Cairo’s bustling centre.
Finally, we’ll return to Hurghada, reflecting on a day filled with wonder, adventure, and the unforgettable memories of Cairo's timeless treasures.
