Depart Edinburgh and head first towards Queensferry Crossing to Culross as you travel through time to this virtually-unchanged 16th century village! Here you may take a stroll through Claire’s herb garden, wander around the stunning palace, or even explore the ancient streets that were built 400 years ago.
Drive past the iconic Stirling Castle and capture the Wallace Monument on your camera as you reach Doune Castle. Filmed in the hugely famous Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Doune Castle is a formidable structure that was once home to a Scottish earl in the 14th century.
Head next to Linlithgow Palace where you have time to enjoy beautiful views to the Forth bridges, tuck into a delicious picnic by the loch, and take some time to explore the ruins of Mary Queen of Scots’ birthplace. Thereafter, travel the short distance to Blackness Castle whose impressive castle resembles a giant stone boat and is also known as the ‘ship that never sailed’.
Venture further to the next highlight of the tour - Midhope Castle. Partake in a great photo opportunity at the location where the Outlander saga was filmed! Then the final leg of the tour takes you to the colorful harbor area of South Queensferry where you inhale the stunning sights before heading back to Edinburgh where the tour comes to a close.
