The first stop of the tour is Midhope Castle. Partake in a great photo opportunity at the location where the Outlander saga was filmed! Sit on the iconic steps of Lallyborch and take a look at the archway in the courtyard. Thereafter, travel the short distance to Blackness Castle whose impressive castle resembles a giant stone boat and is also known as the ‘ship that never sailed’.
Head next to Linlithgow Palace where you have time to enjoy beautiful views to the Forth bridges, tuck into a delicious picnic by the loch, and take some time to explore the ruins of Mary Queen of Scots’ birthplace. Drive past the iconic Stirling Castle and capture the Wallace Monument on your camera as you reach Doune Castle. Filmed in the hugely famous Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Doune Castle is a formidable structure that was once home to a Scottish earl in the 14th century.
Then visit Culross as you travel through time to this virtually-unchanged 16th century village! Here you may take a stroll through Claire’s herb garden, wander around the stunning palace, or even explore the ancient streets that were built 400 years ago before heading back to Edinburgh. where the tour comes to a close.
