Dubrovnik enjoys a Mediterranean climate, which means warm summers and mild winters. In autumn, between September and October, temperatures are not as oppressive as the summer months and the sea is still warm enough for a swim. For those reasons, fall represents the best time to visit Dubrovnik. In the summer months of July and August, Dubrovnik sees a lot of cruise ships, which quickly overwhelm the little city with tourists. This results in long queues at the top Dubrovnik attractions.
