If you are a Game of Thrones fan, you will know that the old town of Dubrovnik was chosen as the stage for the “King’s Landing” after the team was forced to change the location after filming the first season. Within a few days of setting up in the city, the stars of the popular series openly acknowledged that they could not have found a better location to represent the capital of the Seven Kingdoms from the George R.R. Martin novels.
It is true, Dubrovnik offers natural landscapes ideal to stage “The King's Landing” that you can easily recognize with a walk through its cobbled streets. In addition to the King's Landing, you can also see other locations in the series, such as the magical city of Qarth.
The route starts at Puerta Pile, the old gateway to the historic center, and includes stops at places that were used as filming locations in season 2 (episodes 1, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10) and 3 (episodes 1 to 10) in which important scenes were filmed, such as The King Joffrey’s name day tourney, the encounter between Queen Cersei and Littlefinger, when Princess Myrcella is sent off to Dorne, the walk of penance of Cersei or when King Joffrey starts a riot at King’s Landing.
