Witness the age-old process of creating Delft Blue earthenware during the Royal Delft Experience: An Artsy Delft Trip!
With your Royal Delft Experience tickets, you’ll have front row seats to the continuing practice of an art form that has survived through the centuries! The city of Delft was at the epicenter of the craze surrounding blue and white pottery during the 1600’s. Drawing inspiration from Chinese porcelain, Delft craftsmen invented an incredibly popular product: Delft Blue. And, during your Delft tour, you can see exactly how Delft Blue is made, today. It’s one of the most creative things to do in Delft!
Wander through a 17th-century factory that has continuously made Delft Blue the old-fashioned way: By hand! Watch artists carefully paint each piece of pottery before it goes into the kiln. View beautiful pieces of Delft Blue created right here at the Royal Delft factory. And, marvel at a huge, mosaic homage to Rembrandt’s The Night Watch, made entirely out of Delft Blue.
