Overview

Hop inside a vintage motorcycle sidecar, a rugged and reliable beauty produced by the Bavarian Motor Works and still being manufactured more than 60 years after their debut.

Visit the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens, located between mountain and sea, in the heart of the Cape Fynbos region within the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, where the flora is at its richest. In the gardens, you will find mountain slopes, deep forested gorges, renowned waterfalls and amber pools, as well as dunes next to the beach. The gardens comprise ten hectares of cultivated fynbos garden and 190.5 hectares of pristine natural fynbos, and also offer several kilometres of nature trails.

Watch the endangered African Penguin colony at Stony Point near the seaside and fishing village of Betty’s Bay, sheltered by the Kogelberg Mountains on one side and looking out to the ocean on the other. Stony Point holds one of only two shore-based African Penguin breeding colonies in South Africa, and is home to one of the largest successful breeding colonies of African Penguin in the world. Watch these enthralling birds at play via a well-constructed wooden walkway, and enjoy the large colony of Cape Cormorants that also live in the area. Whale spotting during calving season (July-November) is another highlight and dolphins may be seen year-round.

We’ll sit down for lunch at a small but vibrant restaurant before returning to Cape Town via a visit to either a local craft brewery offering a wide range of exceptional beers, or a wine estate, steeped in tradition and recognised for producing world-class wines.
