Discover Old Town, see the important monuments of the city and explore the majestic Bratislava Castle on a Bratislava guided tour.
Your tour begins with a short introduction to Bratislava & Slovakia. Delve into the ancient history of Slovakia and learn about the Great Moravia Empire. Hear about the dark times during Slovak communism and the hope brought on by the Velvet Revolution.
Explore the bright, airy alleys and the palatial squares of Old Town. The historic core of the city boasts quaint fountains, Baroque places, idiosyncratic little monuments, and plaques indicating the historical figures that passed by.
Walk past the Slovak National Theater and the building of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra – Reduta. Continue to the Main Square, passing the Old Town Hall. On Franciscan Square, you will see the oldest sacral building in the city, the Franciscan Church. Pass Biela Street and Michalska Street to St. Michael’s Gate. Stroll past historical buildings and palaces on Venturska Street and Panska Street and admire the exteriors of St. Martin’s Cathedral.
Walk up to Bratislava Castle, an imposing structure that watches over the city from its craggy roost and is a dominant feature of the capital city. Once the seat of the Kings of Royal Hungary and housing the Hungarian crown jewels for 200 years, the castle has played a significant role in the history of Slovakia as well as Central Europe. Enjoy an informative introduction by your guide after which you will explore the castle on your own.
