Make your way to the Fortress And Temple Chitrudurga Fort

Visit this iconic fort known as the "stone fortress" which is locally called Kallina Kote. Walk around the complex and admire the first instance of fortification at Chitradurga by Kamageti Timmanna Nayaka around 1562 AD.
The fort of Chitradurga occupies a granatoid hillock and popularly known as 'Yelu suttina kote', the fort has seven lines of defense with bastions of various shapes at regular intervals of which three are at the foot of the hill and the remaining four over the hill. The outermost wall has four gateways, one on each side. Zig-zag entrances are provided through these seven lines of fortification with batteries and magazines.
There is also a big temple in the lower portion of the fort. This fort is located at a distance of 120 km from Hampi, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fort is a popular tourist spot and is located at a distance of just 198 km from Bangalore. Enjoy exploring the fort which also has a pond, secret openings, a jail and stone pillars
