On this private tour your guide will meet you at your hotel at 0930h. You will travel to Parliament Square by London Underground and the remainder of the tour will be carried out on foot. (The following is a suggested itinerary and can be adapted and stops for refreshments and shopping can be made based on your requirements).
Start in the Parliament Square, the heart of British government and home to some of the most iconic sights of the city, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
Proceed to Westminster Abbey (inside visit optional). The magnificent Westminster Abbey was a place of coronation of Kings and Queens for almost 1000 years. The abbey is also the burial place of over 3000 royal personages, poets, writers and scientists including Elizabeth 1, Charles Dickens and Isaac Newton. You can also see the glorious Henry VII Chapel.
Having seen the main buildings associated with British Politics the tour moves on to discover more about the Monarchy. En-route you will stroll through the 18th century backstreets and hear tales of gossip and intrigue – political, royal and religious. Pass by some striking modern architecture.
Learn more about the Royal Family as you pass royal palaces including Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s London residence. Stroll through St. James Street, a discreet world of aristocratic clubs, and hear of some less than discreet behaviour of some of the most famous citizens of the country. Specialist shops abound, supplying quality goods to the royal households.
Head towards the bustling heart of London and end your tour by hearing the stories that bring to life Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square, two of London’s most vibrant areas.
At the end point of the tour (flexible based on what you decide to see) your guide will escort you to the nearest underground station and ensure you know how to get back to your hotel. The tour ends at 1730h.
