The big picture of Vienna city centre and Schonbrunn palace
It was informative as well as fun. The guide's remarks were witty, he spoke good English (and highly understandable for non-native speakers), he gave us valuable insight into Vienna's history, near past and present. Beyond the splendor of historic Vienna we also found out about the council houses and the longstanding tradition of this concept (Red Vienna). The trip was well organized, we wore a green bullet sign pinned on the clothes (that was fun!) such as to easily recognize other group members and not get lost. The Schonbrunn guided tour through imperial rooms was interesting. But for an elderly person who walks slowly it was a bit of a rush. Personally, I would recommend that the trip last longer (say 4 or 5 hours instead of 3) in order to have time to take a relaxed stroll across the gardens of Schonbrunn, see Gloriette etc.
