Jump into a cauldron of creative energy on the Insider London Walking Tours: Street Art – Shoreditch and Brick Lane experience. There is no hotel pick-up for the tour. Please meet the guide lobby of the Andaz Hotel on Liverpool Street, 40 Liverpool Street, London, EC2M 7QN, UK. He or she will be holding an Insider London sign.
Shoreditch and Brick Lane make up one of the most exciting parts of London. The population is young, dynamic and full of imagination. What’s more, Shoreditch and Brick Lane, together with Spitalfields, comprise what one might call, ‘the square mile of art’; a de factor open air art gallery; with graffiti, posters and paste-ups displayed on the main roads, down the side streets and in all the nooks and crannies of this post-industrial environment.
This international hub of graffiti culture is home to works by Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Space Invader – and a host of talented emerging local artists like Dr. D.
Your 2-hour urban odyssey explores East London's ever-changing street art scene, which means each tour is not only cutting-edge but also unique. The tour begins at Old Street and makes its way down Curtain Road to Spitalfields, winds through Brick Lane and finishes in the Truman Brewery Complex. Guests see traditional spray can art, but also wheat-pasting, street sculpture, installation, and visit a popular shop and gallery patronised by local artists.
The tour ends at TLiverpool Street Station, Bishopsgate, London, Greater London, EC2M 7PY.
