Depart from your hotel in Xi’An in a comfortable coach that takes you to the train station in Xi’An where you board the high-speed train to the ancient city of Luoyang. Rooted thousands of years in rich history, Luoyang was chosen as the capital by 13 dynasties.
Once you reach Luoyang, a comfortable vehicle and an expert English speaking heritage guide awaits to take you to Longmen Grottoes, one of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art. Home to over 100,000 Buddha statues and Buddhist disciples, 1400 caves, 60 pagodas and more, the site has effectively been inscribed as a UNESCO-listed World Heritage site.
Tuck into a delicious Chinese style lunch at a local establishment and taste the varied authentic flavors. Head next to the White Horse Temple which was the first Buddhist temple in China established in 68 AD under Emperor Ming in Eastern Han Dynasty. Spread over 13 acres, the temple has numerous halls, courtyards and manicured gardens. Admire some of the noteworthy statues including Sakyamuni Buddha, Maitreya-the laughing Buddha, the Jade Buddha.
