Overview

Visit the charming town of Kruja, perched high on the face of a hill. Explore the unique Skanderbeg Museum inside the restored castle, and see Durrës, known for its colossal Roman amphitheater.

Kruja has been nicknamed the “the Adriatic Sea’s Balcony”, because of its high altitude. Kruja was the centre of 15th century Albanian resistance to the Ottomans under the leadership of national hero Gjerg Kastrioti “Skanderbeg”.

Spend time at the unique Skanderbeg Museum and the Ethnographical Museum. The street leading up to the castle resembles a Turkish bazaar. Amble along the lanes of the old bazaar and browse a wonderful selection of authentic antiques and souvenirs.

Continue to Durrës , visit the city centre, amphitheater and the Roman Baths behind the Aleksander Moisiu Theatre on the central square.
