You can meet your friendly and informative guide either at the National Stadium or the National Theater to start your Costa Rica trip. Hike in lush, green forests that are declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Learn about the enchanting history of cacao and taste some organic chocolate products made by a local woman’s organization. You’ll also enjoy an authentic Costa Rican lunch at a popular restaurant and watch the super-organized leafcutter ants get to work at an ant farm. There will be a considerable amount of walking and you’ll be most comfortable in hiking clothes and shoes.

We recommend you bring binoculars, camera, sunscreen and bug spray, and a rain coat/poncho.

Each walking trail in La Silva is approximately 3 hours long and is principally on cement or wood trails suitable for people of all ages with good mobility. Please remember that the temperature rises during the day, reaching its peak in midday. Participants on this tour must be in good health.

This is a child-friendly tour. Children between 6 years to 11 years can join the tour at the rate listed above. Please select “child” above when booking. Children below the age of 6 years can join this tour free of charge. Please inform us at the time of booking if you’ll be bringing a child below the age of 6 years.
