During this tour you’ll go behind the scenes at Cidade do Samba’s Academicos da Grande Rio warehouse, where professionals and volunteers prepare for Carnaval year-round! Check out Carnaval floats in the process of being decorated! And, view spectacular costumes to be worn by Carnaval performers. It’s one of the best things to do in Rio de Janeiro if you want a sneak peek at next year’s Carnaval!
Learn all about samba and Brazil’s most famous celebration while sipping on a complimentary glass of a popular, local drink: Caipirinha! Then, try on one of the sparkly, colorful costumes for yourself and practice a few samba moves. Simply let the positive vibes of Carnaval sweep over you as your friendly guide explains the finer points of samba and its role within the Carnaval parade. It’s one of the most exciting things to do in Rio de Janeiro!

Pick up is available from most hotels in the São Conrado, Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana (South Zone) areas of Rio de Janeiro. If we are not able to pick up from your hotel, an alternate pick-up location will be arranged upon reconfirmation.
Please be ready in your hotel lobby 5 minutes prior to the agreed pick-up time. The guide will come in and call you by name.
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Bring a bottle of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat in case it’s hot.
