Every region in the world has their own staple ingredients, spices and dishes to boast of and Cambodia is no different. Cambodian cuisine which is basically traditional Khmer is a vibrant one bursting with an array of Asian flavours. A regular Cambodian home cooked meal usually comprises of multiple dishes playing an opera of flavours and textures on your taste buds. You will also encounter and work with classic local ingredients such as an assortment of Asian spices and garnishes, edible flowers, pickled vegetables, various dipping sauces and of course a plethora of fresh herbs. Southeast Asian food is known for being spicy with a burst of freshness and Cambodian food is living testament of it. While our English speaking guide will help you understand the instructions being given, the exceptional local chef will teach you and guide you through indigenous preparation processes and usage of raw materials for popular Cambodian delicacies.
This tour is an excellent way to sample the Khmer cultures and lifestyle. And guess what? You can always come back and surprise your friends and family with some delectable dishes as well. Quite the win-win situation, we would say!
