Activity Overview

Embark on a 3-hour drive north of Sabah, passing by vast oil palm and coconut plantations. Make stops at local villages and observe the art of gong-making and honeybee farming. Visit a Rungus longhouse by one of Sabah's many indigenous tribes, and sample a local lunch.

Begin with transfer to the next stop at Sumangkap village for 15 minutes, well known for its 'Gong' making skill by its local artisan. Soon it’ll be time for a more immersive cultural experience so stop along the way at Rungus Long House, Kota Kinabalu, Kota Kinabalu District, West Coast Division, Sabah. Proceed to Bavanggazo Village for a longhouse visit and spend about an hour there. Built entirely using local materials, it is home to the Rungus people community. They are very skilled in creating handicrafts like bead-work, baskets and costumes.

All this excursion is sure to have the tummy grumbling so tuck into some lunch before proceed to Tanjung Simpang Mengayau also known as the 'Tip of Borneo'.Upon arrival, witness the spectacular breath-taking view where the South China Sea and Sulu Sea meets. Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu (approximately 3 hours drive).
