Overview

This is the perfect immersion in the important nature reserve of Tabin where elephants and rhinoceros still roam freely in their natural habitat!

Day 1

Depart to Tabin Wildlife Reserve built alongside the Lipad River and nestled within the rain-forest to spot a variety of birds, insects and even small mammals which can be sighted quite easily. See one of the main attractions at Lipad - the mud volcano, which serves as a mineral salt lick for wildlife! After trekking through the jungle for twenty minutes, arrive at the elevated bare area of the mud volcano before walking up the observation tower and admiring the contrasting landscape of the bare area and its surrounding thick forest where birds are commonly sighted. Look out for nocturnal wildlife and birds, communing with nature in the dark and dense expanse of the forest beneath the star-studded sky.

Day 2

Go for a morning bird walk and behold Tabin’s rich collection of around 300 species of birds! After breakfast, trek through the lush green jungle known for its rich diversity of plants and animal species. Visit Lipad’s Waterfall and take a dip in the natural pool and enjoy the refreshing splash coming down from the waterfall. Immerse yourself in nature today before heading back to your accommodation for some rest.

Day 3

Gorge on breakfast and then get ready for a stroll along the riverside to spot macaques and small mammals swimming at the nearby rock pool or in the river before bidding the enchanting and captivating Tabin an unforgettable farewell.

A surcharge is applicable on all tours/packages ex-outskirt hotels (Nexus Karambunai, Shangri-la Rasa Ria, Beringgis etc): SIC - MYR55/person (return) & PVT - MYR85/person (return).

A surcharge of MYR195 per person will be imposed on transportation if a passenger fails to follow the scheduled departure at 1600 hrs, after the mountain climb.

Regardless private or sharing basis, boat transfers from jetty to the island and return are on a sharing basis (SIC). 

In order to catch the scheduled transfer at 0930 hrs, passengers are recommended to take flight MH3010/MH3023** to and from Lahad Datu. A surcharge of MYR220/person (return)        

Additional night for Standard Room at MYR910 net per person.         

Peak Season surcharge of MYR120 per person is applicable for stay during 1 Apr - 30 Apr, 15 Jul - 15 Oct & 1 Mar - 31 Mar.  

It is essential that you bring good sturdy walking shoes along with long sleeve shirts, long pants, insect repellent and flashlight. Leech socks are available for sale at the resort’s store. Activities are subject to weather conditions and may be re-arranged to meet the best operational situations
