Board a World War II amphibious vehicle, DUKW for a thrilling land and water trip around the city. View the historic structures like Trinity College, St Patrick’s and Christchurch Cathedrals, Government Buildings and Georgian Dublin as your driver/guide entertains you with his interesting commentary.
Hold your breath as your amazing DUKW plunges into water at the newly developed Grand Canal Docklands.
Your Viking driver/guide will make sure that your tour is entertaining as he will point out the major attractions of Dublin’s Viking settlement. Some of the major sights include:
St. Patrick’s Cathedral: Founded in 1911, it is the largest church in Ireland.
Christ Church Cathedral: Founded in 1030, the cathedral is officially claimed as the seat of both the Church of Ireland and Roman Catholic archbishops of Dublin.
Trinity College: A masterpiece of architecture and landscape, it is one of Ireland’s most prestigious educational institutes. It was established in 1592 modelled after Oxford University and Cambridge.
Government Buildings: It is the large major public building built under British rule, the Government Buildings houses several key offices of the Government of Ireland.
On the way, you will also see other major highlights of South Dublin like the Mansion House, Molly Malone statue, The Four Courts, Leinster House and the surviving buildings from the Georgian period.
Your Viking Splash tour will get exciting when the DUKWs splash into the water at the Grand Canal Docklands. One of the major sights from the water is the recording studios of the famous music band U2.
