Overview

Head to GPO Witness History Visitor Centre and experience a piece of modern Irish history. Through interactive exhibits and latest touchscreen technology, learn about the events of the 1916 Easter Rising and uncover historical artifacts.

The museum is housed inside Dublin’s historical General Post Office building which served as the communications hub of Ireland and the headquarters for the people who took part in the 1916 uprising, that led to the creation of the Irish Republic.

See and listen to a host of stories of the people who participated and the bystanders stuck in the middle. Through interactive tools and electronic touchscreens, compose your own newspaper reports and learn to send a Morse code message. You will also come across original copy of the Proclamation, never-seen-before footage and authentic artifacts.
