Visit one of the natural wonders of the world on this exciting day tour from Dublin! This extensive journey takes you all the way from Eire’s capital to the magnificent Giant’s Causeway on the coast Northern Ireland and also treats you to visits of the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.
Our trail starts early morning and after a comfort break on the way, we will head straight into the gorgeous Northern Irish countryside. Soak up the au naturel beauty of Ireland's incredible landscape before heading for a dose of blood-curdling thrill awaiting you at the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge which connects a 30m-deep and 20m-wide chasm between the mainland and a small island that has been used over the years by fishermen to place netting to capture migrating salmon. Following a 20 minute scenic cliff walk, we will savour this thrill trying to cross the swaying bridge to the island with its abundance of bird life, and to enjoy the spectacular coastal views from a different vantage point.
After a quick lunch (at your own expense), we will finally visit the stunning Giants Causeway which is the highlight of our trip . This UNESCO World Heritage
Site consists of a series of over 40,000 hexagonal shaped basalt columns that looks like a grand set of stairs leading into the sea, the formation of which has been astounding generations. The amazing Causeway has fascinated generations of people. During Victorian times it was a massive hit with English tourists. Today it is one of the biggest attractions Northern Ireland has to offer and it is easy to see why. These awe-inspiring stones have resulted in inspiring many a myth and stories surrounding their origin, some of which your guide will just to be happy tell you about in full technicolour!
Travelling with your local guide, you can explore heritage attractions such as the Republican Museum (available from Tuesdays through Saturdays), the iconic Peace Wall and of course, the legendary murals on both the East and West Walls. The Peace Walls, whose inception began around 1969 after major sectarian riots devastated the country, are a must visit for any history, art or culture enthusiast, and is truly an inspiring sight. This tour also includes a visit to Harland and Wolff, birthplace of the infamous RMS Titanic as well as some free time to discover Belfast on your own.
