Lake Balaton, Central Europe's largest freshwater lake, is very popular with tourists. The north shore of the lake is noted for its resorts, wineries and spas. Jutting into the lake, the Tihany Peninsula has one of the country's most interesting national parks and an Abbey, founded in 1051.
This sightseeing tour also takes you to the oldest spa in Hungary, Balatonfüred.
You will be picked up from your hotel and travel in a coach/mini bus to Herend, which has the world’s largest porcelain factory (founded in 1826). The porcelain produced here is world famous and you can tour the factory and have coffee at the ‘Porcelanium' and shop.
You will then go to Lake Balaton which is the largest fresh-water lake of Central Europe and visit the Abbey (founded 1051) on the Tihany Peninsula. Also visit the famous nature reserve which has a variety of flora and fauna.
Then you will proceed to the oldest spa in Hungary, Balatonfüred, where you can walk along the promenade and then return to Budapest.
The tour ends at Erzsebet Square.
