Overview

Visit Shamakhi and Lahij from Baku on a full-day, private tour that gives you uninterrupted access to an expert tour guide as well as a private car. Start your tour at Shamakhi which has historically been also called the City of Literature since it was the native land of many Azerbaijani poets, and today the city is a recognized center of carpet weaving and winemaking!


Your tour includes a visit to “Diri Baba” Sufi Dervish Mausoleum followed by a scenic photo stop at Chukhuryurd lake. After spending some time exploring the quaint and charming alleys of Shamakhi, continue onward to the second fascinating destination in a private car. Located in Upper Caucasus, Lahij was built in 5th century BC, and in 1980 was announced as Historical-Cultural Reserve of Azerbaijan. Tat - the dialect of Old Persian - remains to this day the primary language in the village. Lahij has preserved its culture and trade, and is considered as craft center of the Great Silk Road up to now! After exploring Lahij to your heart’s content, hop back into the comfortable private car and head back to Baku where you will be dropped at you hotel.
