    Take a trip to the medieval capital of Lithuania, Trakai, a small and quiet setttlement surrounded by lakes. In ancient times it was called the Town on Water. Visit the Trakai Castle, the only Eastern European castle that was built on an island. Take a stroll down Karaimu Street and see the famous single-storey wooden houses. In the 14th century, the Grand Duke Vytautas relocated one branch of the Crimean Karaites to Trakai where they settled and continued to follow their traditions and culture.
