As soon as the sun sets, the darkness is punctuated with the striking display of thousands of fairy like lights of the fireflies lining the shore. Watch this spectacular natural display and see the stars descend on earth!
You will be picked up from your hotel in Terengganu in an air-conditioned vehicle in the evening and taken for a unique sightseeing tour.
Drive north along the coastal road enjoy the scenic view of Malaysia’s longest beach and the South China Sea dotted with colourful fishing boats.
Arrive at Malaysia’s most picturesque and exotic fishing village at Kg Penarik. Walk around the picturesque fishing village and witness the quaint and traditional lifestyle of the fishermen.
Visit the fireflies' sanctuary situated by the banks of the river populated with mangrove swamps. The mangrove swamps are densely covered with Sonneratia caseolaris (Berembang) trees, the landing place for the fireflies.
Relish a picnic dinner by the beach.
Witness one of the nature’s wonders as nearly thousands of fireflies group together on the Berembang trees and begin their synchronized flashing patterns. A really bright display lasts for about an hour or so. Enjoy the spectacle of whole trees being lit up like ‘Christmas trees’.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Terengganu.
