The Saturday markets of Sapa, where the tribal villagers come to sell their handicrafts, household products, animals, to drink rice and corn wine with friends and relatives are a big hit with tourists. The mountainous terrain, especially the 3,143-metre Fansipan peak, draws trekking and hiking enthusiasts to the region.
