  • Take a relaxing trip around one of the most unspoilt parts of Ireland on the Ring of Kerry Sightseeing Tour From Killarney. You can meet the tour at Ross Road, Killarney or alternatively complimentary pick-up services are available from Killarney town hotels, bus and rail stations.

You will travel in a comfortable motor coach and your knowledgeable driver will also act as your guide.

The Iveragh Peninsula, in the south-west corner of Ireland, contains the country’s most spectacular mountain road – the Ring of Kerry. Over the centuries it has been the inspiration of poets and writers because of its magnificent coastal scenery and rugged countryside.

The Ring of Kerry is usually done in an anti-clockwise direction along the banks of the River Laune to Killorglin, via Glenbeigh, Kells, Caherciveen and the southern shores of Dingle Bay. The tour continues to Waterville and along the coast through Coomakista Pass and Derrynane and on to Sneem. From Sneem you travel up the mountain road to Molls Gap, then past Ladies’ View and back to Killarney.

Historical highlights of the route include Derrynane House – former home of Daniel O'Connel, the 15th-century Muckross Abbey, Staigue Fort and Ross Castle. Sites of outstanding natural beauty on the way include the lovely Rossbeigh beach, the roaring torrent of Torc Waterfall, and the delightfulBlue Pool Nature Reserve.

You will stop at various points of interest along the way including The Kerry Bog Village(entrance payable direct), which gives people an insight into how people lived and worked in Ireland in the 18th Century. The village is the only one of its kind in Europe.

There may also be an opportunity to watch a Sheepdog Trials, also payable direct.

At lunchtime the tour stops for an hour and in the afternoon there will be a break for refreshments such as tea, coffee or Guinness. Food and drinks are not included in the tour.

At the end of the day you will be dropped back at the point where you were picked up.
