Looking to escape the crazy bustle of city life? This tour of the rural outskirts of Hue is just what you need!
The tour commences with a visit to a bamboo paper workshop under the expert Phan Hai Bang who has over a decade’s experience of researching and creating unique dzo papers decorated with one-of-a-kind Vietnamese cultural motifs. An artist by profession, he excels in using these papers to create various items like conical hats, umbrellas, lamps, fans, postcards, wallets and a ton of other incredible stuff! We will move on to a traditional cultural house where you can explore authentic Vietnamese handicrafts and even have a go at creating a lovely lotus under the supervision of professional craftsmen.
Proceeding towards our next stop, we will arrive at the stunning village of Thuy Bieu where will visit a beautiful pomelo garden house which used be frequented by the royal family. Stroll around the delightful fruit garden, soaking up the verdant ambiance that is sure to refresh you. A thrilling motorbike ride through the quaint streets of this ancient village is lined up next, feasting your eyes on the gorgeous surrounding and making stops to visit a local family producing votive papers as well as a marvellous community temple. If bike rides are not your thing, we have a rejuvenating alternative for you - enjoy a transcendental and therapeutic foot bath in an herbal tub at the same family’s spectacular fruit garden.
Our final dose of happiness comes from visiting the same family to try our hand at making delicious sesame candy with an original Vietnamese twist. Once you have finished, sit back and enjoy the candies along with fresh cup of green tea and ginger candy, while chatting up with the family. A tour that gets you far from the madding crowd for a day amidst beauty and simplicity, this day out around the suburbs of Hue will leave you with an involuntary smile on your face!

We believe time is money! Show the local guide your voucher and you’ll be all set to go!
If you have your voucher, your booking is confirmed.
We allow a maximum of 12 people on this tour to make it more of an intimate experience. Nobody wants a crowd, you know!
As Hue can get quite warm and humid, we recommend wearing light and comfortable clothing. If you wish to take part in the bike ride, please also wear appropriate shoes and clothing for cycling.
While packing for your vacation in Vietnam, please remember that dressing standards are quite conservative throughout the country. Please make sure that your shoulders and knees are covered at all times.
This activity is adults (and older children) only. Little ones under the age of 6 years will have to sit this one out, we’re afraid.
If you are coming with your child aged 6 - 11, please remember to specifically mention ‘child’ while booking the tour.
If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides, a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across destinations. After all, everyone deserves a small token of appreciation, are we right? Please consider this when budgeting for your extra expenses on this tour.
