    Overview

Dive into a memorable trail through the city of Hoi An with this delightful walking tour that also treats you to a local cooking class. The city has an endearing old world charm to it, having escaped the ravages of successive wars Vietnam has been plagued by, and is filled with some fine architecture and momentous sites.

Our journey through this UNESCO World Heritage Site begins in the quaint streets of the pretty Old Town which are dotted with buildings of both cultural as well as historical importance. Strolling along this incredible part of the town, you will catch sight of renowned landmarks like an array of Chinese Assembly Halls from the Cantonese Chinese Congregation to the Hainan Chinese Congregation. While the first one was integral to Chinese immigrants back in the days, the latter is a memorial dedicated to 107 immigrants who were mistaken for pirates and killed by Emperor Tu Duc. We will also make a stop near the stunning Japanese Covered Bridge, dating back to 1590.

Having soaked in the city’s inimitable vibe of nostalgia, we will head for an amazingly intimate experience wherein you will visit a family-run restaurant and pick up some tips of preparing mouth-watering Vietnamese delicacies. Bring out your inner MasterChef as you do it all - right from listing out the dishes to be prepared to running to the market to stock up on the produce as well as learn about how to choose the right ingredients to finally preparing the dishes. Regale in this truly personalised time as you learn the tips and tricks to prepare some iconic dishes and savour the inimitable culture of sharing quality time over good food. This truly is a tour like no other!

Voucher Information: No need to print! You can show your voucher on your smartphone or other devices. (But if you’d rather print a copy – that’s fine too!)

The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details. They’re a nice bunch, and will happily answer any logistical questions you may have. Please give them a call at least 24 hours before your organised activity to reconfirm.

We believe time is money! Show the local guide your voucher and you’ll be all set to go!

If you have your voucher, your booking is confirmed.

We allow a maximum of 12 people on this tour to make it more of an intimate experience. Nobody wants a crowd, you know!

While packing for your vacation in Vietnam, please remember that dressing standards are quite conservative throughout the country. Please make sure that your shoulders and knees are covered while you are out for this tour.

Unfortunately, the Vietnamese authorities close sites temporarily from time to time, sometimes with very little (if any) notice which might lead to alternate arrangements being made for the tours affected at late notice.

This activity is adults (and older children) only. Little ones under the age of 6 years will have to sit this one out, we’re afraid.

If you are coming with your child aged 6 - 11, please remember to specifically mention ‘child’ while booking the tour.

    Additional info

If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides, a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across destinations. After all, everyone deserves a small token of appreciation, are we right? Please consider this when budgeting for your extra expenses on this tour.
