    Overview

Treating you to a massive dose of political and cultural history, this tour of the M? Son complex is sure to leave you mesmerised. With an exclusive crowd-free access, you will get to explore the stunning ruins of this former religious complex dating between the 4th and 4th century.

Our journey to this UNESCO World Heritage site begins with a scenic drive through the beautiful countryside. One of the most significant sites documenting the fascinating heritage of this country, the complex is an exemplary insight into the customs and architecture of the Cham people. An ethnic group of Austronesians originating Southeast Asia, the Chams were primarily Shaiva Hindus although a major part of community adopted Islam thanks to the host of Persian and Arab merchants who travelled to China via Vietnam.

As you stroll around the vast expanse of M? Son, which incidentally is often compared to the likes of Borobudur and ancient temple complexes in Southeast Asian countries, our expert guide will fill you in with intriguing insights about the various temples including Bhadresvara. Feast your eyes on the ingenuity of the engineering as you observe how the people put everything together with simple materials like brick and stones. Before heading out, we will have the fantastic chance to savour an ancestral apsara dance where you can witness Vietnamese women in traditional costumes and cone hats dancing to the tunes of drums and panpipes. It’s a breathtaking experience, to say the least!

After a tryst with a historic culture, it’s time to encounter some contemporary lifestyles as we head to a rice paper workshop where you can try your hand preparing a delectable local snack - a lesson you will cherish for life. Post the workshop, you can sit back and soak in the transcendental rural ambiance while enjoying your creations along with a cup of Vietnamese coffee and interacting with your hosts.

The tour ends with us dropping you back to your hotel or if you want to head out for lunch, we have quite a few delicious recommendations up our sleeves!

Voucher Information: No need to print! You can show your voucher on your smartphone or other devices. (But if you’d rather print a copy – that’s fine too!)

The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details. They’re a nice bunch, and will happily answer any logistical questions you may have. Please give them a call at least 24 hours before your organised activity to reconfirm.

We believe time is money! Show the local guide your voucher and you’ll be all set to go!

If you have your voucher, your booking is confirmed.

We allow a maximum of 12 people on this tour to make it more of an intimate experience. Nobody wants a crowd, you know!

While packing for your vacation in Vietnam, please remember that dressing standards are quite conservative throughout the country. Please make sure that your shoulders and knees are covered at all times.

Please understand that the rice paper workshop is offered by a local family-run business and might sometimes be closed for a day without prior notice. But don’t you worry, as we have a bunch of awesome alternatives right up our sleeves!

This activity is adults (and older children) only. Little ones under the age of 6 years will have to sit this one out, we’re afraid.

If you are coming with your child aged 6 - 11, please remember to specifically mention ‘child’ while booking the tour.

    Additional info

If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides, a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across destinations. After all, everyone deserves a small token of appreciation, are we right? Please consider this when budgeting for your extra expenses on this tour.
