Overview

Would you like to explore the most emblematic monument in Budapest? Book our Budapest Parliament Tour and enjoy the unforgettable experience of exploring one of the largest and most beautiful parliaments all over the world.

Before the Budapest Parliament Tour begins inside, you will see the art deco memorial, built in memory of the Hungarian victims of The Red Terror in Vertanuk Ter. You will also hear about the bullets in the walls as you pay respects to the victims of the Bloody Thursday massacre, on October 25, 1956.

You will visit the newest monument in the city: The Monument of National Unity. A controversial monument due to its creation, location and meaning after the Trianon. Pass by the Ethnographic Museum, in the same square. Built in 1872 as the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice.

We finish at the Visitor Center of the Hungarian Parliament, providing the client with the entrance for their audio-guided tour.

Discover the rooms and areas that this historical gem from the XIX century has to show. Did you know that Imre Sreindl, the architect who designed the monument, became totally blind just some months before its inauguration? Unfortunately, he couldn’t admire its beauty when finished but you have the opportunity to do it now.

From the balcony at the side of the Parliament building, you will find out all about the curious Hungarian locals, the importance of the strategic location of the building, as well as take in panoramic views of some of the city's most important landmarks, as well as find out how to get there!

Access from the main imperial-style staircase, we can admire two huge lions on both sides, and a magnificent entrance where marble and gold predominate, as well as impressive granite columns and fussy ceilings that represent allegories in honour of Károly Lotz and the Hungarian motherland.

But if you are not impressed by this spectacular entrance, you will definitely fall in love with Hungary as soon as we visit the Dome Hall. You have not visited the monument until you have gone up to this 100-metre-high architectural treasure, enclosed by statues of the most acclaimed Magyar kings and the luxury crown jewels: the Holy Crown (well known as St. Stephen’s Crown), the sceptre, the orb and the Renaissance sword.

What´s more, you will have the chance to explore the Old Upper House Hall, which used to be the old Parliament. This is not in use nowadays, as the parliamentary sessions take place in the Council of Deputies.
