Overview

Enjoy this self guided tour of two major cities in Azerbaijan – Sheki and Lahij as you call the shots and explore the destinations at your own pace! Start your tour with a visit to Juma Mosque, the oldest mosque of all Caucasus and Azerbaijan. Then make your way to Nohurgol Lake in Gabala and enjoy a photo opportunity here. The region around the city is a real natural wonder with beautiful landscapes, mineral water springs, forests and rivers. Your tour includes a visit to “Diri Baba” Sufi Dervish Mausoleum followed by a scenic photo stop at Chukhuryurd lake.

Thereafter head to Lahij located in Upper Caucasus. Lahij has preserved its culture and trade, and is considered as craft center of the Great Silk Road up to now! Head next to Yeddi Gozel Waterfall see the misty wonders of this ‘Seven Beauties Waterfall’. The last leg of your tour brings you to Tufandag - one of the longest teleferic of the world. Whether for skiing or just for memorable summer views of the Alpine scenery behind Gabala, you may choose to jump aboard the Tufandag network of four cable cars! Retire for the night in Sheki or Gabala.

The next day you drive to Sheki which is located 675 m above sea level in the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus about 370 km away from Baku. The majestic Palace of Sheki Khans is considered as one of the most beautiful architectural monuments of medieval Azerbaijan. Continue to Karavansaray and walk around Sheki city center to admire architecture of iconic buildings, see the Albanian Church in Kish Village and shop around a bit before heading back to Baku.
