Overview

Begin your day as an Olympic athlete at the beautiful neoclassical building known as the Zappeion just below the National Garden in the world’s first Olympic Village! At the Panathenaic Stadium behold the beautiful white marble structure (and the only stadium in the world made entirely of marble!) where athletes competed more than a century ago.

Get ready to take a lap around the track and don’t worry about personal bests, it’s the run, not the finish line that counts here! Try your hand at the classic discus and the javelin throw and practice newer ones like the shot put, long jump and relay races. Gain insight intothe role of Ancient Olympics in society over the millennium in which they were held.

You’ll learn how the athletes trained, what disciplines were included as the games evolved. This is the perfect opportunity to also load up on some reallyold sports trivia to stump your friends! You’ll do this all right in the building that served as the first Olympic Village.Find out more about how ancient Olympic athletes trained and learn some techniques used by modern athletes before you compete in a race in the world’s first modern Olympic Stadium.
