Overview

A marvellous journey through some of the most iconic locations in Athens, this tour will take on a historical journey like no other. A walking tour of the illustrious Athenian past, the trail starts at the stunning Syntagma or Constitution Square, where you can see the remarkable Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and also witness the changing of the Evzone Guards in their traditional fustanellas. Moving on, you can savour two gorgeous Byzantine Churches - the Sotira Lykodimou, the only Byzantine church with an octagonal plan, and the Church of Transformation or Kottakis Church. Located in the heart of the pretty area of Plaka, the churches are beautiful to say the least, perfectly complimented by the romantic paved streets filled with Greek restaurants and local stores.

Our ultimate destination on this tour is the spectacular ruins of the Acropolis, one of the most recognised sights in Greece. Feast your eyes on the remnants of this magnificent citadel from the 4th century BC. As you stroll up the iconic hill top, you can see the legendary Dionysus sanctuary and Theatre, dating back to 5th century BC. Soak in the exquisite aura of a glorious past as you explore these gorgeous ruins including the ravishing Parthenon, the opulent Propylaea, the exquisite Temple of Athena, the majestic Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the picturesque Observatory of Athens and the mausoleum of Philopappos.
